Originality and plagiarism: The research described in the submitted manuscript must be original and not previously published or currently under consideration elsewhere, with the exception of preliminary forms such as conference abstracts, lectures, or academic theses. If the manuscript includes ideas, text, or data from other sources, these must be properly cited or quoted in accordance with academic standards.
Ethical considerations: Authors are expected to uphold the highest ethical standards in psychological research, in line with the principles outlined in the Declaration of Helsinki. By submitting a manuscript to Psihologija, authors confirm that the research has been conducted in accordance with relevant ethical guidelines and, where applicable, has received approval or guidance from an independent ethics committee or institutional review board (IRB). Manuscripts must include details regarding ethical approval, the ethical treatment of human or animal participants, and procedures for obtaining informed consent. Manuscripts will not be considered for publication if participants did not provide informed consent to participate in the study.
Preprint policy: This journal accepts submissions of manuscripts that have previously been made available as preprints. Authors must inform the editorial office at the time of submission if a version of the manuscript has been posted on a preprint server. Authors are also permitted to post the submitted version of their manuscript to a preprint server at any stage prior to publication. Once the article is published in Psihologija, authors are encouraged to update the preprint with a citation and link to the final published version. Please note that sharing a manuscript as a preprint does not constitute prior publication and will not affect the editorial decision.
Peer review: All manuscripts submitted to Psihologija are subject to double-blind peer review, meaning that both the reviewers and the authors remain anonymous to each other throughout the review process. Each submission is evaluated by at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise. In rare cases where this is not possible, the Editor-in-Chief may reach a decision based on one substantive review and the editorial assessment. The editorial team ensures that the review process is fair, rigorous, and timely.
Conflict of interest: All authors are required to disclose any actual or potential conflicts of interest, including financial, personal, or professional relationships with individuals or organizations that could inappropriately influence, or be perceived to influence, the content or interpretation of their work. If there are no conflicts to declare, this should be explicitly stated in the manuscript.
Use of Artificial Intelligence Tools: Any use of generative AI systems or other artificial tools in the preparation of the manuscript, including assistance with writing, study design, data analysis, or other aspects of the research, must be clearly disclosed at the time of submission. Psihologija acknowledges that such tools may offer useful support for researchers, particularly in completing technical or routine tasks. However, authors are required to explicitly state which parts of the work involved the use of AI or other artificial systems. Authors bear full responsibility for the accuracy, integrity, and scholarly quality of their work, regardless of the tools used in its production. If, during the review process, parts of the manuscript are found to contain errors typically associated with unverified AI output, such as hallucinated references, misinterpretation of statistical results, incoherent or meaningless text, or content composed of empty phrases, this will be taken as evidence of insufficient author oversight.Such findings may constitute grounds for rejecting the submission in its entirety.
Data Transparency and Availability: Psihologija supports transparency and openness in scientific research. Authors are required to make their data, analysis scripts, and other materials used in the research (e.g., codebooks, experimental stimuli) publicly available via a trusted data repository or as electronic supplementary material (ESM). Exceptions are allowed only when data or code do not exist, or when sharing is not possible for justified reasons (e.g., legal, ethical, or confidentiality restrictions), which must be clearly stated in the manuscript. All submissions must include a Data Availability Statement, indicating where the data and materials can be accessed, or providing a justification if they cannot be shared
Use of Inclusive Language: Authors are expected to use inclusive and respectful language throughout their manuscripts. Discriminatory or biased expressions, whether explicit or implicit, related to gender, race, ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, disability, or other personal characteristics should be strictly avoided. Language should reflect respect for all individuals and groups, and terminology should align with current best practices in scholarly and ethical communication. When referring to demographic or identity-related information, authors should use person-first and non-stigmatizing language whenever possible.
Funding statement: Authors must declare all sources of funding that supported the research, including but not limited to government grants, industry sponsorships, institutional resources, and private foundations.

Under this license, authors retain copyright of their work while granting others permission to use, share, adapt, and reproduce the content in whole or in part, provided that the original work is properly cited. Users (including redistributors) must cite the original source, including the authors’ names, Psihologija as the original publication venue, year of publication, volume number, and DOI. If accepted for publication, the manuscript must not be published elsewhere, in English, Serbian, or any other language. Authors bear full responsibility for the content of their manuscript, including the accuracy and validity of the results. Furthermore, authors must ensure that they have obtained all necessary permissions to publish any materials (e.g., figures, tables, text excerpts) for which copyright or authorship rights are held by third parties.
