Aims and scope

Psihologija is a peer-reviewed journal that publishes original empirical research across all areas of psychology, as well as interdisciplinary studies that contribute to psychological science. The journal welcomes submissions from all psychological subfields (e.g., cognitive, social, developmental, clinical, organizational) and from related disciplines (e.g., neuroscience, education, linguistics) that offer significant insights into psychological processes.

Article types

Psihologija accepts the following types of articles:

  • Original Empirical Articles

These may include single- or multi-study papers utilizing quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-methods approaches. The maximum word count is 8,000 words, including the abstract and footnotes, but excluding abstract, keywords, highlights, tables, figures, table and figure captions, references and Electronic Supplementary Materials (ESM).

  • Meta-Analytic Reports and Systematic Reviews

The journal welcomes meta-analyses and systematic reviews, provided they follow the PRISMA reporting guidelines. The maximum word count is 10,000 words, including the abstract and footnotes, but excluding abstract, keywords, highlights, tables, figures, table and figure captions, references and Electronic Supplementary Materials (ESM).

  • Brief Reports

Brief reports are suitable for single-study manuscripts that are methodologically rigorous and can be effectively presented in a concise format. These articles should include the following sections: Abstract, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, and Discussion. The Results and Discussion sections may be combined. The word count for brief reports is limited to 3,500 words, including the abstract and footnotes, but excluding abstract, keywords, highlights, tables, figures, table and figure captions, references and Electronic Supplementary Materials (ESM).

Authors are encouraged to use Supplemental Materials to provide additional information about instruments (e.g., scales), procedures (e.g., cover stories, researcher scripts), and detailed results. This recommendation applies to all types of articles.

Psihologija welcomes replication studies, including both direct and conceptual replications, as long as they are methodologically sound and contribute to the cumulative nature of psychological science.
